My dad told me the reason he didn't teach me basic hygiene, buy groceries for me, buy me new clothes or notebooks when I needed them, and made me do all the chores in the house alone every week was because he believes I am Cinderella, that one day I'll get married and all of this hardship he and my step mother put on me will be worth it. He said this after my family had gone to see the new Cinderella movie in theaters but I couldn't go because I wasn't done bleaching the tubs when they left. We had this conversation after I was crying because I made dinner and wasn't allowed to eat it because my step mom was the one who bought the groceries and not him so she didn't want to have to feed me with her money. He didn't even give a shit that I hadn't eaten all day
