what is the worst you have ever screwed someone over?

Figured I'd share the worst I've ever been screwed over instead. I had gotten a one year lease on a house with three roommates (my boyfriend, my sister, and her new husband). My sister and her husband were out of school, more stable, and much better off financially, so they had agreed to pay the lion's share of the rent. The very first night there, sister and husband have a huge fight and she leaves- does not come back for weeks. It was pretty obvious that there had been previous issues going on beforehand that I was unaware of. Since my boyfriend was working evenings, it was basically just me and my brother-in-law living in the house, so we got pretty close (I had already been friends with him since high school, in fact since before he met my sister). Turns out, my sister had met a new guy- already suspicious but it's important to note that at this point in the story I didn't know much about him. My sister says she's not coming back into the house unless we agree that guy can move in as well. OK, horrible situation already, but it was pretty clear that a divorce was going to happen, my brother-in-law was an amazing guy and we all agree to this. My sister and her new loser bf and his cat take the third bedroom. Not long after this, we realize that this guy is an awful, manipulative drug addict, my dumb ass siter started abuisng drugs as well, lost her nursing license after less than a year of having it, ended a six year relationship after less than a year of marriage, and fucked her life up real bad. Back to the part where I get screwed over. As I said, we had just signed a one year lease for this house, but after a couple months of this no one could deal with the situation anymore. My sister has gone off the deep end and they decide they're leaving (meaning we already have to pay all the owed payments for breaking the lease). When it's time to move out, they literally left a pile of their crap in the garage/driveway , and my sister's totaled car as well, and never took it away (so the landlord charged an additional fee for waste removal). AND, when the landlord does the inspection, my sister's bf's cat was "sick" and had peed/vomited all over the carpet in the entire house to the point it had soaked through and ruined the part underneath the carpet as well (cue extra costs for having the carpets replaced in the entire house). At this point, there are thousands of dollars worth of fees and repairs that we are liable for. And my sister just dissappears. Refuses to pay a cent for all the debt she directly caused. My brother-in-law and I ended up being liable to pay thousands of dollars off to the housing agency. We could have sued her or pursued it legally, but as I said earlier, I was only 21 and not doing as well financially, so my amazingly nice brother-in-law continues his lion's share portion and takes on most of the debts himself (I still ended up saddled with a few thousand dollars worth of debt). If we had sued, then legally we would have all four likely been responsible for an even amount of damages, so I would have ended up having to pay MORE than what I ended up paying.

Years later, I haven't talked to my sister in years but I think she is living in a homeless shelter with the same asshole loser. And, I am seeing my ex-brother-in-law on Saturday to catch up over drinks :) we were always close since teen years, and remained good friends despite everything that happened.
