What is the worst mess you've ever had to clean up?

From the age of 10+, when I started mowing yards for money for video games - I could not wait to get an actual paying job. So when I turned 16, the only job in town was at a McDonald's - and because I was 16 and still in high school, they only gave me the shitty weekend morning shifts, 4am-8am Sat. & Sunday. - the definition of misery. But I was dedicated to getting that paycheck, so off I went, 4am or not.

My first day, my first shift - I get inside and the manager is walking me through the place; he said I'd be on grill once I knew how to use it. Which for the uninitiated, it's a giant grill with a giant container on each side for you to scrape grease/waste into. Cook a few patties with the press down, then you scrape the leftovers/grease into the sides - until they're full, then you empty them.

Now there might be a better way of disposing of these containers, but for whatever reason the bastards in this store - when their containers got full they just dumped them into the trashcan; a giant, giant trashcan. Like the kind you'd see in your high school cafeteria.

So apparently the closing shift didn't take out the trash - and my first task ever as an employee, was to empty that trashcan. I was like well, how hard could that be? I mean afterall, I played football, what's a little trash...

If I could undo trying to empty that can, I would. It was that bad.

Immediately when I lifted the edges, the bag started to rip. I grabbed it at the base of the rips, then tried to lift it up. This thing weighed easily 100+lbs.

So I'm like hey, this thing is going to make a god awful mess- can you help me with it? And the manager got pissed, like we have enough to do here to open so just take out the trash okay? I'm like... Ok.

So I go back and I try to lift this bag - and honestly I thought I had it. But right as I was lifting it out of the can, the bottom ripped open - and a flood. AN ACTUAL FLOOD - of day old grease and McDonald trash/water/nasty poured ALL OVER ME, from my NECK DOWN. There was so much, it even filled my boots with the nasty.

I was like... what. THE. FUCK.

That manager just looked at me, then looked at this tidal wave of shit that instantly clogged the floor drains and was now heading into the eating area/front counter.

The smell was so heinious, I immediately started gagging. I was like dude, I have go home. He was like well, at least help me clean this up and I'll let you go home. Being the naive kid I was, I stayed and cleaned it up - which took over an hour in itself.

I wish I could say that was the most nasty thing to happen to me there, but it wasn't. Awful job, can't say I miss it. Fun fact for ya, McDonald's is America's #1 most common first-job.

TL:DR McDonald's trashcan full of grease exploded all over me, even filled my boots.
