I was a 22 year old marine in San Diego,CA. Me and my best friend would go out every other night to a little dive bar called JT's pub and grill to drink, sing karaoke, and pick up girls.
I was always the DD. I would have one or two beers around 9:00pm-ish, and then I would drink soda fir the rest of the night, which was fine with me. I'very never been much of a drinker. But on this particular night I screwed up. My friend ended up going home with a girl he had hit it off with and I kind of got sucked into this big group of very loud, enthusiastic, drunk people. I had a blast! I actually danced and I never dance. I also made the mistake of getting completely trashed.
Well, at the end of the night I was destroyed, my phone was dead, and there was no way I could even find my keys, much less drive onto a marine airbase that had guards posted at all entrypoints, without getting caught. So in my drunken stupor I decided I was gonna walk back to base. Base was roughly 15 miles away.
So I walked by myself (in the wrong direction I might add) for about 20-ish, I think, minutes before I decided I was lost and that this fence looked like a perfect place to lean up against while I went to sleep and sobered up.
I'm not sure how much time passed but I remember hearing a baby crying and a man whispering. You know those harsh almost loud whispers? I kind of tip my head up to look around but I am still completely blitzed and I couldn't see anyone around me. I heard the baby crying, then heard the harsh whispers some more and someone kind of begging and then a thud in front of me somewhere. After that I don't remember anything until the next morning.
I woke up to a BLINDING headache and I could barely freaking stand. I pulled myself up and had no clue where I was. There was a dumpster in front of me and I had fallen asleep against a wooden fence that separated 2 restaurants, one of which used to be a dairy Queen but was now closed. I look 20 or so feet in front of me and I see a something lying on the asphault. I go over to it and then remember what I had heard the night before. I was looking at an unmoving baby.
This man had taken his ex girlfriend and her child (he was the father and she was trying to get child support) from their home and drove them basically to exactly where I was. He raped her behind me and threw his 3 month old baby over the fence in an attempt to discard it in the dumpster. Im a marine and slept through almost every second because I got too drunk to even stay conscious. That is the most evil thing I was ever present for.
