What would you change about the climbing community?

Priveledge ignorance.... there's lots of acting like its some dirtbag culture poor persons sport when in actual fact it has a lot more in common w/ a culture like skiing. The strongest and best climbers don't have the best tick lists, the ones who are able to get out more than the others do, 8a should have an option to enter days on rock per year, id be interested to see the stats for sure.

Im shocked at how many people i meet (not the locals) are on extended 3 month or year long climbing trips, 'slumming it' in their mad expensive vans, or they'll be working and just randomly take a month or two off.... that shit isn't real life for a lot of people - and - theres nothing wrong w that, if i can earn enough that i could pay for my future kids to do that i will for sure. But i know pros who have to work on the side and get outside less.

so check ur bullshit before claiming you're some dirtbag... the real dirtbags these days are the guys grinding 9-5 jobs, training in the same gym on the same campus board week in week out and hitching a ride to the crag on the weekends, getting 2 burns in on a project then going home.

Not some corporate slaves kid with dreadlocks and acoustic guitar who just discovered reggae last year who spends months climbing outside.. they'll be parachuted into a nice job in a bank after they return home with a haircut.

I met these guys at a crag once who have said 'yeaaa man we haven't washed in a week!!' and im thinking mate you're camping in a 100k van and you just filmed your mates last attempt on the newest iphone, go and fucking wash.
