What would you consider a "flawed masterpiece?"

The Childhood of a Leader did such a big leap in time structure that didn't quite work well. Movies are like A + B = C . In regards to first act, second act and the resolution in the third act. This movie was just A = C. It's too forced. I'm just suppose to accept it and takes the filmmakers word for it.

Although stylistically I loved it but yeah it's very flawed and the progression to the final C fails. It's suppose to be a surprising experience but it's a surprise that doesn't feel earned or even make sense. You could have put anything in the final scene like a murderer, a corrupt businessman, a sadistic doctor, a cult leader. It's all in a fictional world etc. This flaw reminds me of science fiction films where the rules are thrown out and the resolution is some forced solution except this time it's suppose to be some sort of forced tragedy or realization.
