So what would you want done with all the extra guards on the roster?

His FG% jumped from 35% to 36%, which is still down from his rookie season of 37%. His 3P% went up from 25% to 28%, still down from his rookie year at 33.5%. His rebounding went down from 4.2 to 3.9, though both figures are still better than the 3.3 in his rookie year. His assists did improve by 1.6 per game, though 4.6 is a little low for someone playing 30 minutes a night but he is a backup. His steals and blocks are roughly unchanged (1.5 to 1.6 and .3 to .4 respectively), though his turnovers jumped from. 1.3 to 2.0.

He's shooting more, less efficiently. His increased assists come with more turnovers. His defensive stats (his bread and butter) have stagnated. He breaks the rhythm of the offense with his transition 3s (even though he's hitting more of them these playoffs, but... you know, sample size), and he flops too much for someone as strong as he is.

He was great on TT last night, but he's disappeared at times these playoffs (a lot of the team has, so this isn't a fair knock on him). No one is saying he's a terrible player with zero value, but he is a terrible offensive player with limited value because of it. He's young, yes, but he hasn't shown a ton of growth. He is not the untouchable cornerstone of a franchise that many Celtics fans think he is. Unless he makes a significant leap forward next year, his value is going to be at its highest this summer. Can he have a role on contender? Absolutely. Can he be replaced? Absolutely.
