What would have happened to the main character of The Mist (2007) after the ending?

The best part about his tragedy is that almost all of the survivors are in the same boat. The reason groups like wounded warriors work, in part, is that everyone in them feels a connection. They can talk about survivor's guilt or how there was nothing anyone could do. They can discuss things that normal people would never ever understand.

If the world he lived in had good medical care that everyone can afford they likely get help. If not its a coin flip if he turns to drugs as an escape or simply takes his own life.

  • Look to veterans and the percentages with how they deal with PSTD and I suspect we would see similar numbers for the survivors of such tragedies.
