What would life be life if a second depression hit?

I can't say - the Great Depression resulted in many new systems and control mechanisms to help those who were unemployed (25%), and those many underemployed (wages reduced 45%), Those systems exist to this day to provide safety nets.

The days of small horse drawn farms of those days is over. Large commercial farming is the way now with specialized seed use, industrial automation and so on.

Back then - many people in the East and Midwest traveled to CA seeing better lands. If one happened now with the drought and heat and property costs in the west and southwest - might people flock to the Midwest or Great Lakes ?

I don't think (feel I guess) a Great Depression is going to happen but maybe a modest recession, but I have no deep economic knowledge to say.
