What is wrong with our fandom?

With the caveat being that the many different and often contradictory desires and wishes are from many different groups of people, one should not expect the community to ever be happy with anything.

Once a community gets to a certain size, the disagreements become toxic and uncontrolled. Combine that with the inevitable change that Halo undergoes from year to year and you get a cancerous base.

One rarely ever satisfies everyone; you can't have your cake and eat too.

And due to the fractured nature of the community, things will only get worse from here. 343 cannot do everything people want.

I myself find the Flood after the truth of their origins was revealed to be rather "meh". They lost their interesting mystery. Just like the Forerunners and Precursors. I am indifferent.

That they went ahead and made this just feels like fan-appeasement to me. They should listen to their community but they should not be controlled by it. After all their reactions to criticisms of Halo 4 and Spartan Ops is to me the origin of this whole "Halo is Ruined" mess. The community is just as much to blame.
