what was your "big change" with your music taste this year?

I'm fairly drunk and not a native English speaker so I'lll try to make sense.

To give you some background, I had this epiphany back in late 2012 that music is pretty much what drives my life force and that I've been neglecting that fact for the (as of then) past 20 years of my life.

That epiphany came to me while I was listening to 'A Certain Romance' by the Arctic Monkeys (I believe it was the 2009 Pinkpop fest performance). I just realized how strange it is that pretty much all moments of blissful happiness in my life were music-related, and every period of my life that I was sure I totally forgot all came back to me with just the first note of some song I liked at the time.

Since then, spending every fragment of my free time towards finding the next soundtrack to my life was natural. It helped me discover what passion truly is.

With that epiphany in mind, I started to question everything. My introvertedness, my lack of confidence, me being a total loser in the social and romantic departments of my life, and thus started a journey.

To keep this music related - from that point I must've discovered about hundreds of new artists, thousands of new songs and I became a fanboy of more bands than I could ever count (flair related).

That's why I feel more ready than ever. For what you ask? I'm starting to learn music production next week. I'm typing this as my gorgeous girlfriend is laying asleep next to me, probably more drunk than I am.

I dunno how all of this is gonna go down, I only know that for once in my life, I'm doing me.

Bless you all /r/indieheads, I owe you for helping me take the leap. Also plz no bully kthx.
