What is your CraigsList 'horror' story?

Sold my car for $4000 cash. Found a car on CL for $1,200. It needed a rear door fixed and a new transmission. Fine, I'm friends with an owner of a body/repair shop, I can get stuff done on the cheap. Found a matching rear door for $60 at a junkyard, all he charged me for was the paint it to match the car, and he cut me a deal at that. Total cost so far was $1500 for the new car. Still needed a transmission. Fine. We ordered a working one from a junkyard that sells parts online for $900. Not bad. He charged me half a day labor instead of a full day to put it in. Cool. Between that and the cost of the car I was right at $3k. Still had $1k in my pocket so I was still coming out ahead.

The car ran perfect for about a week, then something went out on it. Fixed that, then something else went out. Fixed that, then something else went out. Fixed that, then something else went out. Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera...until my brilliant idea of selling my car to come out ahead put me in a further $4k hole because of how much I had to spend to keep fixing this car. Ended up selling it to the junkyard we bought all of the parts from for...$1,500. I came out taking a huge loss, and having to get a new car with a monthly loan because I couldn't afford anything else. Yayyyy. Now I avoid even looking at CL because of the lemon I stupidly got stuck with.
