What is your experience finding your current job?

My first job out of college was both a stroke of good luck and a stroke of bad luck. I sort of walked into it. My roommate, who I had met 6 months earlier on Craigslist, needed a sort of assistant to complete tasks she was being (unfairly) assigned at work. They included social media updates, writing, editing, website work, etc. I said sure, interviewed, got the job.

Was laid off four months later. Long story short, the owner was a shady as fuck asshole and I got caught in the middle of the fuckery.

Because I had only worked 4 months, I was not qualified for unemployment. So I began putting in apps anywhere I could. I reached out to previous employers and found a part time job at a start up. That didn't work because they were clueless on how to run a business. They wanted 40+ hours of work out of me but they wanted it done in 20 hours...and didn't want me taking a second job, despite the fact that this had been discussed before I accepted the job...

Left there, got a contract job that was meant to become full time. Everyone liked me but my trainer, who basically refused to train me and was the most stuck up bitch I'd met at that point. So I was let go without any reason or even a final date; I literally left the office and just never went back.

Back to putting in apps wherever, again had a stroke of good/bad luck and got what I thought was my dream job working for a large bookstore chain that I later learned was a clusterfuck of stupid. Quit a year later, and finally said fuck this shit, I'm going back to school. Got a job that allowed me to get my foot in the door at my dream career and am almost finished with my Masters. I'm so over jumping jobs, I want to work around professionals for once.
