What was your favorite multiplication growing up?

The 9s up to 9 times 11, and because I was taught a handy trick for them. Also, the two digits added as singles equals 9 to validated (up to 9 times 10).

Hold up both hands, palms facing you. From left to right, count over to the finger you're multiplying by 9, then fold that finger down. The fingers up on the left side of that finger is the 10s places, and the fingers up is the single digits. Add the two for your answer.

Let's says you're doing 9 times 3. So you should be folding down your left middle finger. To the left of that, you have two fingers up. So that's your tens place or 20. To the right of that, you have 7 fingers up. Add the two, and you have 9 times 3 equals 20 plus 7 or 27. To validate, add 2 (for the 20 as a single digit) plus 7 equals 9.

9 times 5. Count over to the fifth finger or your left pinkie, and fold it down. 4 on the left, and 5 on the right means 9 times 5 equals 45. 4 plus 5 equals 9. Etc.
