What Your Favorite SU Ship Says About You

I think it was Joe. Look it up yourself. It was on twitter or maybe his page or some interview.

I am NOT the only person who 'hates' the trope that I'm now complaining about in this thread. In fact the only reason I'm talking about people not liking it and my own distaste for it and confusion as to whether I'm supposed to have accepted the House Guest episode as character development that unmasked Greg as a liar who plays people with false bids for sympathy -- or dismiss it as out of character. The subject of how much they hate it on Channel Awesome and how mad they got with Sadie and Greg is what got me started on the topic on the V-Log thread. People are wondering if they will love the Sardonyx arc because they enjoy Pearl being crazy so much or whether it will trigger their rage because they hate the trope of the liar manipulating others, getting unmasked and then whining 'it was just to get close.'

YOU are not the person I am talking about. I am very sorry if I slip into the second person when responding to your posts. I know that my opinions are not YOUR opinions.

There are other people who actually dislike that sort of writing because it is pulling out a particularly hack trope. Also it pisses people off because in real life people who pull bullshit lies like that are really annoying and seeing that particular trope actually triggers an 'OMFG I hate people who do that shit' response in a fair number of people. Go look at the Channel Awesome V-Logs for House Guest and Island Adventure and tell me that they actually LOVE the trope just like you do.

Setting up extremely manipulative and controlling lies to entrap others into doing stuff for you isn't actually something people just do even as an awkward teenage phase. It isn't some sort of stage on love or limerance -- it is something pathological liars do which pisses people off. It is uncomfortable and annoying and weird the way they keep repeating it on SU.
