What is your gross income per year?

I got my first commercial development job at 21. 10 years of commercial experience at this point. I was coding out of personal interest long before that though. Biggest leg up for me was meeting the person who would turn out to be my mentor and one of my closest friends at my first job. He really invested in me and broadened my horizons.

Software stack is mostly irrelevant - I’ve worked with a bunch. It’s the type of software you’re building that counts. I work on big infrastructure - think cloud, networking, storage, databases, distributed systems etc. the type of thing you might imagine would be in high demand at a hyper scaler. Not your typical CRUD app.
