What was your latest small but meaningful victory on your journey to a healthier lifestyle?

Congrats dude. I think the best thing most people could do for themselves is put a bullet in their TV so it's not an option. And don't get me started on video games. :)

It's a super hard process to go through, getting fitter, but also super empowering to see that you can remake yourself like that. You only "win" when you get to the point where you don't need to do that anymore because you've just become a totally different person who hates sitting on the couch for 4 hours straight.

Keep at it. Don't lose sight of the fact that being healthy isn't the end goal. The end goal is living a long life full of awesome experiences. Being healthy is one of the requirements for that, but it's not the only requirement. If you're not sitting on the couch for four hours, what are you going to do with those four hours? Find something awesome to do with it so you never want to go back to the couch.

I read somewhere that some cultures don't really have verb tense like we do. That the concept of "having done" something and "going to do something" isn't really part of the language. The result is that conceptually, the you of 20 years from now is the you of today. Be that dude. Does the fit guy 20 years down the road want you to sit on your ass tonight? Probably not. Dude probably wants to go out and do some geocaching, hit the climbing gym, ride a bike, hike on a trail, play fetch with a dog, finally make friends with Sarah because man is she awesome.
