2007 NFC Championship game.
Since the offseason had started following the 2006 8-8 campaign I was one of few people that wanted favre back. I wore my favre jersey once a week to school EVERY week up through that game. I came to be known as "Packer Guy" by the upper classmen. Teachers who were coaches, students I called friends, all poked fun at me and told me how sad it was that I had such devotion to a washed up player. But I never buckled. I always told them the same thing. "Never doubt #4"
That first week vs the eagles. OMG what a game...I remember favre bobbing weaving and breaking through tackles on a long third down and flipping the ball out to deshawn wynn setting up a rookie mason Crosby field goal. OH and those forced fumbles on punt coverage. what a game. But still the insults continued.
Fast forward to Denver. Oh boy was that a long Monday. The things that were said to me by classmates. So much so to the point I had tears welling in my eyes. I remember Al Harris with a diving bat on a pass intented to Brandon marshall in the closing seconds for a game saving deflection. What happens in OT? Favre throws the football over the god damn mile high city and into the soft hands of greg Jennings to end OT on the first play. I balled like a baby, I screamed, "HES STILL GOT IT!!! HES STILL GOT IT!!!!" woke up the damn neighbors lol.
All this and more magic in my favorite season to not win a super bowl. leading to that championship game.
Lawernece tynes on the field to hit a 30-odd yard field goal. Its over.... everyone at the party is somber and silent. I close my eyes as I feel the season slipping away. I hear collinsworth, "A rookie snapper and a rookie holder" I pray, "God please...don't let them make this field goal..." no sooner than amen im abruptly shooken from my trance as al micheals voice grows to a roar..."the snap...is high AND THE KICK IS WIDE LEFT! WE ARE GOING TO OVERTIME!"
OH MY GOD I broke down crying in disbelief I was so happy. Its everything I or any packer fan could ask in a story book season...we just have to win, were gonna beat the 18-0 patriots, favre wins superbowl mvp honors and fades into the sunset clint eastwood style.

Now at this point I should make you aware of a friend of mine. He is not very smart....not in the slightest. Completely oblivious to the world around him. This year andy had a unique talent in which he would call something out during the game and the opposite always happened. I cant site specific examples but I know there were a couple of really stupid things that happened because of this that year...
Just before the drive as favre walks up to the line we hear, "Holy shit. the packers are actually gonna do this." I ignored it. this never happened. BAM!!! INT.... keeping my cool.....keeping my cool.....Giants win...
Not a sound. except for my shriek following quickly a death charge towards said friend by me, grabbing for his neck and a statement along the lines of, "Im going to fucking kill you"
were still good friends. but that sucked donkey balls.
