What was your most memorable gaming moment of 2017? (please use spoiler tags!)

Here's an obscure one from a game that never really took off and looks to be dead in early access:

Worlds Adrift

Under all the major technical issues that constantly ruin your gameplay, there's something good in there. For my friends and I, our best gaming moment(s) all year have been crossing each of the environmental walls for the first time.

To clarify:

In Worlds Adrift, you roam around floating sky islands to collect resources and build ships. The map is huge, and has "tiers" that are separated by walls. There's the wind wall, storm wall, and finally the sandstorm wall. Each requires more advanced ship parts, and making it through reveals new islands with better loot.

I won't spoil any of the walls for you, but they're all a rush and you have a huge sense of accomplishment when you get through. You have no idea what the inside of each storm will be like, or what's going to happen. Failure means losing the ship you've spent hours building, so it feels crazy good when you're successful.

If they ever solve some of the really bad performance issues, I highly recommend playing this with friends.
