Ezoo 16, my first festival. I️ was on my way to meet my friend to see Porter Robinson for the first time. I️’m walking up to the stage about 15 minutes after he started, and I️ became so struck by how incredible the music was that instead of going to the front to find him I️ sat down by myself in the grass and just took it all in. The music, the visuals, just the overall VIBE started to make me emotional. As I️ was sitting there quietly crying and listening this gay couple comes up to me and asked if I️ was ok. I️ told them yes, but couldn’t explain I️ why I️ was so emotional. One of them asked “wait, is this your first time seeing Porter?” I️ nodded back. “Are you rolling too?” Another nod. Then his partner asked “do you need a hug?” I️ hugged them both and just kinda let it all go. They told me to have the best time that weekend and then went on their way. That story, to me at least, is everything that this music and the people around it are all about.
