What was your scariest "A second later and I would've died" moment?

I used to live in a sketchy neighborhood with a gas station about a block away. Just to paint a better picture of the sketchiness, the gas station was open 24/7 but after about 10 you could only buy things through a park admissions type window. You'd tell the person what you wanted, they'd go get it in the store, etc. One night I'm walking back and pass 3 guys that seem relatively normal for the neighborhood but as soon as I passed them I hear a gun get racked. I stopped in my tracks expecting to be robbed but within about a second a car (not visible to anyone previously, at least that I can tell) comes around the corner from the direction I'm facing and drives by. I guess the people knew this car and didnt like the person because they immediately started yelling and chasing after the car. I assume the car coming around the corner and the owner being more disliked by the group saved me and my non existent money/stuff. After that I never went to the gas station after dark.
