What is your story, how did you start climbing?

Climbed a bit with my sister and BIL, but with kids it was pretty hard to get serious about it. Decided to wait until our two boys were old enough, but then we decided to have another kid. At that point it was like "I'm 36 years old...if I'm gonna start doing this, I gotta start now". So I started going to the gym with my oldest son right around the time his sister was born as a father-son activity.

2 weeks later his brother was joining us.

A month and a half later, my daughter was laying on the ground at the base of a route the boys, mom and I were toproping in Jackson Falls.

A couple months after that we took our first trip to the Red.

2.5 years later...

My 10 year old kid is on the team, climbing all the gym's 5.12 and projecting Easy Rider (5.13a) in the Red. Since the first of the year we've put in 27 days on real rock split between HCR, Red Rocks, St. George, Devil's Lake and the RRG. Got my first 5.10 trad route earlier this year and have onsighted a bunch of 5.11s so far this season. Splitting next week in the Red and the New, returning home for two days, then off to USAC Nationals in Atlanta. Back home for two weeks, then we have another week of vacation when we'll go climb some out east.
