My potential time to shine!
I had a horrible roommate my freshman year of college; one of the worst people I've had the displeasure of knowing. He had to take classes over the summer in order to be fully accepted into university. He was also a business major; aside from a fairly low GPA requirement for that degree, he had a very easy semester ahead of him.
I should have known better when I saw his Facebook profile. He seemed normal but posted selfies that even Drake, Justin Bieber, or some total wannabe tough guy would be ashamed of.
He brought with him a 32' flat screen TV, his Xbox, and an enormous speaker system. The volume was always loud during the day whether it was a movie or game of Gears of War. At night, he would leave the lights and TV on. I would ask him either turn the volume down or turn the lights off (compromise I guess). He complied at first, but stopped after about a month or two. I would eventually have to get the RA to mediate the issue.
Aside from the sleeping issues, he would sexile from the room quite often. We had a standard double dorm room so I couldn't really go anywhere. I remember going upstairs to the girls floor and sleeping on the floor in my friends' room. The girls weren't that attractive; they were insecure and bitchy, which probably had to do with his own insecurities (remember the weirdo selfies?). I had the displeasure of waking up to him and girl having sex, and I noped out of there real quick. He claimed I was weird for sitting there listening and watching when in reality I was sleeping off my booze. He would bitch and complain about me when I was just trying to do my own thing and pass calculus.
I moved out the week before Thanksgiving break into another double. Looking back I wish I stuck up for myself more, but you live and learn. To this day, my parents and I call him "pickle boy". I complained to them one day that he had the IQ of a pickle. I know it seems silly but I was sleep deprived and upset that he was being such a dick. If you're reading this Nick, you can go fuck yourself.
