What was your worst tourist experience?

Mine was on a recent trip to Barcelona from Edinburgh. At Heathrow, we were using a bus to get from the plane and when it turned a corner, a woman shot her hand out to hold on, but instead punched me in the eye. Her ring scratched my eyeball. I doubled up in pain while an American family screamed at her for not holding on and that I should sue her. She muttered an apology but that was it.

We then went to the terminal and had to go through security. It was very busy and a fat American lady was strutting about at the area where you collect your hand luggage. She was mouthing off at the security and was swearing pretty bad. with one hand holding a cloth over my eye I said something like 'calm down, everyone has to wait and I'd appreciate if you stop swearing in front of my children'. She flipped and got in my face screaming at me. I lost my temper a bit and dared her to swear one more time when my wife grabbed me and hauled me away, which was a good thing as I was close to twatting the woman.

A kind air stewardess gave me eye drops on my flight which felt like liquid magma in my eye when they went in, but ultimately made my eye somewhat better.

When we arrived at the hotel I was really stressed out and in a lot of pain. We took the elevator to our floor. When the elevator stopped, no door opened and I thought we were trapped. I started buzzing the alarm and shouting. Again, my patient wife calmed me down and pointed to the exit door behind me.

Family had a great time in Spain, while I did my best. But my eye swelled right up and I couldn't open it for the entire trip. Utter nightmare.
