Whatever happens tonight....

I want to win simply so this guy from the Warriors subreddit eats his words and realizes KD going to the Warriors is never, ever, ever going to happen:

So we finally get to face off against OKC tonight. For the first time as champions. Remember when all we'd here for a while last season was that if we were the 1st seed and they were the 8th, they would upset us in the playoffs? Time flies quickly, doesn't it.

But unlike all our previous battles against the Thunder, we're not going in this game to prove we're the superior team. Everybody and their dead great-great-grandmothers know that. It's one thing to win the battle. It's another to return home with the adversary's jewels. Tonight, we'll need to take our first step towards turning that Okie Boy into a Golden Man.

So how do we do this? Well, as funny as it may sound, our best bet at a proper welcoming invitation is by giving him a gut bunch that he'll taste for the rest of his days. We can't simply beat this OKC tonight. We need to extinguish this Thunder team from the face of the earth. We need to beat them to pulp so that we wipe off that not a remnant of tissue remains on their bones. We need to detonate a nuke so powerful that it makes them regret every waking up in the morning. We need to embarrass their franchise in such a way that they might just reconsider moving back to Seattle and actually apologizing for the basketball crimes they committed to that city and remorse over the fact that they even left in the first place. Eliciting trepidation is the key to gaining followers. We've seen it happen hundreds of times in human history and we're going to see it again.

With that fear, KD will know that if there's any chance at all for him to wipe "Kevin Wayne Durant" off the list of ring-less greats, that chance only remains here in the Bay. He'll join our team not just out of desire, but mostly out of necessity. At the same time, he'll see close up what kind of system we can run for him. How many Bogut/Draymond screens will lead to him getting laughably easy pindows from our plethora of playmakers. He'll witness a team that for the first time will be predicated around the team trying to create open shots for him rather than him trying to find open teammates. He'll witness firsthand what it looks like to have more playmakers than scorers. He's going to have the best seat in the house to witness Warriors basketball. So this is why it's paramount to play our A-game tonight. Let's put on a show just for him to show what beautiful, prestige, and flowing basketball looks like. Every easy backdoor cut, DHO to an open Steph three, defensive stop to our lethal transition game will get us just that much closer to stealing that sexy jumper of his. So let's do it tonight not just for the fans and the record. But for new starting Small Forward.
