What're some fun to play and cheap, archtypes (~$40-50) that are actually good?

Every top budget deck list has to include Crusadias. Some reasons why you may want to run them:

  1. The core is very cheap
  2. Can be very competitive even without hand traps
  3. You can choose to coast through a match without much thinking by otking or overpowering your opponent with Equimax
  4. You can play hard mode by going 1st with the deck
  5. It has great artwork and lore if youre into that
  6. There are new cards still coming out for it which will only make it stronger
  7. Can be mixed with other engines paths such as kaijus, sky strikers, mekk-knights, and there's also a naturia beast variant

The deck can be very simple but complex at the same time. You can either OTK your opponent, try to overpower them and in some cases out grind the enemy to win. If youre new to the game, this deck can teach you the basics of link summoning mechanics too. The basic idea of the deck is to summon a Crusadia monster and link climb into Equimax and swing for game. Or if you go first, you can try to set up your board with some defensive stoppers and hope to god that you can survive on your enemy's turn and try to otk after. Its a very fun, cheap, and easy deck to pick up to play against your friends and locals if you ever wanna beat some noobs. Ive got a BA deck along with Crusadias and I like to run Crusadias as my #2 deck when I just wanna win and make my friends cry.
