What's # 4!?!

Yeah but your whole thing was so thin and it just got a little troll-y. The stalking ones were more clearly goofs.

I'm sorry to go heavy - your contribution here is the unfortunate recipient of my ire about the internet bc I really did recently deactivate fb out of that frustration. The puffery and need to get in the last word (yes, like I'm doing now, look what you made me do!) just to argue and be validated is built into the pseudo-social interaction of the medium. "The whole world will see me on this stage so I'm gonna upstage every chance I get." I've done it too but recently realized I hate that. Facebook is lousy with it and the recent surprise results in the US presidential election magnified it by 1000 times. Political over correctness has also come to a head over here and people just can't take a f***ing joke. Don't know if you were on in the early days of fb and twitter, but at the start it was more about fun and sharing. Now all of these spaces are self-aware and it's killing our collective spirit. Even in the short time since deactivating my fb account I've noticed that I'm observably happier. My u solicited and poorly sold advice is this: let it go. I bit my tongue here before chiming back in and that's what I'm doing everywhere (well, obviously not in these rants but otherwise). Say your peace (piece?) and if some asshole argues or criticizes you, take it and move on. Don't give in to the temptation to take the stage when it's something like a little group of people trying to solve a fun Christmas puzzle. Save your strength for when you are in a dialogue about something with real gravity and impact. And, as I said earlier on to try to diffuse and close the exchange, Merry Christmas from America. Ok, I'm out. You've got the last word.
