What's the best breakup story you have?

Oooo, I have a good one. So I was dating this guy in high school. He was starting to get clingy, and I decided I wanted to end it. I'm the oldest of my siblings and my patents were still in their super strict mode, and I wasn't supposed to date. So, I went out to my car to make the call to break up with this guy.

Now my car was parked in front of my house by the curb, exactly where I'd been parking for years. It was also night time in late fall and it was quite chilly, so I had a hoodie on as I sat in my car on the phone. So I'm talking to this guy, trying to explain why I just wasn't that into him anymore, and all of a sudden, I see cop lights behind me, like I was being pulled over. So I tell this poor guy to hang on and that I'll call him back.

I didn't know exactly what to do because my car wasn't running and my keys weren't in the ignition, so I couldn't roll my window down. I remembered hearing that you weren't supposed to get out of your car when you get pulled over because the cop will see it as a threat. So, I decided to crack my door open and peak my head out. The second that the cop saw my door open and my head pop out, he whips out his gun and points it right at my forehead and screams, "STAY IN YOUR VEHICLE!!!"

Just to clarify, I live in a nice, quiet, little suburb where little to no crime happens.

So I have a gun pointed at my head, and I'm a wee bit freaked out and decide to do as he says and get back in my vehicle before I get my face blown off. I'd never really had a run-in with cops before, so I didn't know if I'd stepped over the line and done something that deserved being at gun point and the cop was just doing his job or what. The cop comes up to my car and bangs on the window, indicating that I should roll it down. My car still wasn't on, so I had no way of doing so. He didn't have a gun pointed at me anymore, so I chanced to crack the door open again and call out, "My car isn't on, so I can't roll down the window. Can I open the door?" He agreed, and I opened it to talk to him.

"License and registration," he barked.

"I...I don't have it. I wasn't driving, see. I was just in the car so I could make a phone call."

Then he sneered at me. Just completely fucking sneered at me and goes, "Oh, you're out here on the phone?" I didn't think that this was unusual in any way so I said yes I was. "What are you REALLY doing?" I repeated that I was on the phone. "Well, I just think that it's a little suspicious that you're out here, sitting in front of this house at night." I said that it was my house and repeated that I needed to make a private phone call. "Oh this is YOUR house?" Yes. "This isn't your house." I said that it was. "Is this your car?" Yes.

At this point he leans in, very threateningly, and is laughing and leering at me like he's about to bust me big time. "You realize that I can look both of those things up, right? This isn't your house. You're up to something and when I found out what, your ass is going to fucking jail."

At this point, I'm starting to get pissed off because I couldn't think of anything that I could have been doing that was illegal, and I was a 90 lb, 5'2", 16 year old girl who had never been accused of doing anything wrong before. So I said, "Look, my dad's still up, and he's right inside. I can go get him, and he can--" And again I've got a gun pointed at me, and he yells, "STAY IN YOUR VEHICLE!!!"

I put my hands up because I don't know what else to do, and he glares at me and goes, "You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to go run your plates and prove that you don't live here." I tell him to go ahead. He goes to his cop car. I call up my dad, tell him what's going on and to please come out now.

My dad, usually a pretty quiet and reserved guy, comes marching down my driveway right as the cop is getting out of his car.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing pulling a gun on my daughter?!" My dad roared at him. He rarely raises his voice, and I'd never heard him cuss before.

"Well, uh, it just seemed kind of suspicious that she was parked right in front of this house..."

"She fucking lives here and parks this car here every single fucking day, you fuckwad! There is nothing suspicious about that!"

The cop opened his mouth, closed it, opened it again, said, "Yeah, well...She's wearing a hoodie." and then got back in his car and drove off.

My dad went back inside, I called the boy back, told him it was over, then when back inside and went to bed.

tl;dr: Tried to break up with a guy, almost got shot by a cop.
