whats the best information you could hand down to really assist other writers

Keep at it. Don't stop.

Don't focus on too many caps/adapters or pretty colours just yet. Rack paint if you can/want, buy whatever paint you can afford. Use NY Fats for everything for a while. You'll learn better can control that way. Expensive European paint doesn't make you a better writer, and some of the best, most legendary writers still use stolen cheap paint. Buy expensive shit if you want to and have money to burn, but it's pointless.

Letter structure is everything. Without it, you will forever be a toy. Get a pen and paper, practice hundreds, even thousands, of tags, throwies, basic pieces etc. In my opinion, a basic tag with all the right proportions (ie, a big 'DOSE ONE' tag. Just a random word aha) than some arrow-fucked shitty piece. Tagging is the best, learn to love it. Live it. Spot them everywhere, put them everywhere you go.

Change up your tags/throws from time to time, or better yet just have lots of variation in the first place. Don't be the guy who everyone knows is completely talentless apart from his one handstyle and throw up. Variety is the spice of life.

Don't fall into the trap of doing only day spots, it makes night activities seem waaay more intimidating than it really is. Being out and about at night, getting away with stuff and seeing it the next day is infinitely better than piecing a creek or abandoned day spot once and never returning. All different parts of a balanced diet.

Driving to spots makes things so much easier, but I've heard stories of oldschool heads riding their bikes 90 minutes each way with two tins in their pockets, multiple nights in a row to do a single trackside piece. There are ways around not having a car. Walk, skateboard, bike, rollerblade, scooter (Just kidding don't rollerblade or scooter- ever).

Be careful on the tracks. Listen carefully, look even closer. Plan out where you are going to duck if a train or worker comes. Tracksides are the best, chances are if you're in a major city there is a train-line somewhere near your house. Don't bomb in your backyard, but definitely hold down your hood or respective line. Where I'm from, crunching trackside fences with hollow after hollow, tag after tag, is just as important as being able to piece the freight tunnels and underpasses.

Paint as much as you can and want, but don't be a dumbcunt about it. Over-killing a specific area and having nothing anywhere else is weak. Much better to slowly build up a name for yourself, all over your city over a few months than simply tag everything in sight for a few blocks.

Don't get cocky or ahead of yourself. Be humble. The minute you think you are not a toy- reality check, you still are until someone with a lot more experience says so. Painting with people better than you forces you to progress quicker, but at the same time being the clear toy shitcunt in a dope lineup is a bad look. Be nice, generous and courteous to other writers but don't be a push over. Don't sidebust, don't trash spots (Such as smashing windows or breaking shit and abandoneds. Paint them!!). Don't cap what isn't majorly dissed (A single random scrawl over a huge burner does not justify poorly covering it with your piece) or what you can't clearly burn. Don't start beef, don't even continue it. Just hold down your own name and you'll be better off.

Sharing is caring- don't be a stingy cunt if your boy needs to borrow your white for highlights or key-line. If someone is doing a lot of driving for you, express your gratitude. Shout them food/drink/paint/weed/booze/whatever from time to time, or offer to pay for petrol/gas. Even if they say they don't want gas money, no one is going to turn down a free cheeseburger or 5 pack of chicken nuggets at 2am on a cold winter night.

This is all from my own experience... less than 2 years properly at it. I don't claim to be some legendary knowledgeable writer- obviously I'm not. This is just etiquette and shit that goes a long way. I'm striving to be my best. That's what counts, keep doing you.

TLDR- don't be a dick, keep doing new shit, use common sense.
