What's the best place to get coffee on campus?

Depends on the kind of coffee you like but nothing beats a freshly ground french pressed coffee at home. When I get the itch for some caffeine on campus, I usually go to whichever place is closest. They all have upsides and downsides. My top 3 visited (because of their convenience for me and in no way makes them superior to the other places on campus) are:

1) TCT in RLM.

Pros: great, unique flavors. Nonexistent lines during classes and shorter lines than most places between classes.

Cons: I find they brew their coffee at an extraordinary high temperature. This results in a very bitter taste. Also in order to drink it, I usually have to let it sit without a top on for 20-30 minutes so it can cool down.

2) Starbucks in the Union

Pros: you know what to expect. It's Starbucks. Much more variety of stuff to get than TCT. The Union is pretty convenient if you are coming from west campus.

Cons: The lines are sometimes ridiculous. It seems everyone enjoys the convenience of the location.

3) Starbucks at the SAC

Pros: see above.

Cons: Not quite as convenient if you are not on that side of campus. Lines are pretty long as well

Personally, I wake up 30 minutes earlier to cook breakfast and press my own coffee. HEB on Red River has a great selection of whole coffee beans that you can grind or you can grind them there. If you need coffee on campus, the quality is pretty similar across the campus (I have been to every place on and around campus). The prices are similar so it's not like you are saving much from one place to another. All this talk of coffee is making me crave some but it's midnight. Maybe just one cup before bed :)
