Hah... yep. Restaurants are like big incestuous families. Constant drama about people sleeping together, fighting, messing with one another. Not uncommon for everyone to get together before or after a shift to just hang out and eat/drink (referred to as 'family meal' sometimes). When things get busy, tensions boil over all the time. Sometimes it's over something professional, sometimes over something personal. It's a big mixed bag.
That's all pretty normal for a restaurant. Has never prevented a good restaurant from functioning, though... if anything I think it helps it. It keeps people engaged and interested. It's kind of like living in a soap opera - it's entertainment to liven up an otherwise monotonous and boring lifestyle.
