My roommate was a terrible person.

She would cut herself in my room and bleed on my floor. Naturally, I was concerned and would help her out and find resources for her. I did everything to try and help her but she wouldn't stop. Finally she told me she was cutting because she just REALLY wanted attention and wanted people to ask what was on her hands so she could start a conversation with them and make friends.

She used to break into my room all the time (which was always locked) and sit on my bed and cry and wait for me to come home and say she was depressed/hallucinating/anxious etc and I would stay up with her until at least 5am every night even though I had 8am classes and she had no morning ones.

She constantly made me come out with her whenever she met guys because she said she was too afraid to go alone. Even if I had other plans, she would harass me/cry until I agreed to go with her.

At this point I was becoming somewhat distant from her because I couldn't handle the insanity. I was in a very difficult program and my sleep was suffering and so were my marks so I was avoiding her as much as possible.

So one day she showed up in my room hysterically crying saying she got back from the doctor's and that she had a terrible disease and that no one knew about it and she couldn't tell her mom because she would be devastated etc. She wouldn't tell me what it was but said she might die from it and begged me to help her through it and 'just be a friend'.

Naturally, I did everything I could to help her until she finally told me what it was: heartburn. From eating spicy food for the first time. She also told me she made up a lot of her 'mental issues' so I would stay friends with her.

Terrible person.
