Friend's was giving her daughter shit about taking better care of her kids. There was no food in the cupboards. No laundry was done. The place was a mess. The woman did nothing but party all night and sleep all day.

So my friend says to her daughter, "I should just take these kids with me! At least they'd be cared for!"

The mom replies, right in front of the kids, "Go right ahead. I don't give a shit. But I'm keeping the welfare I get for them!" The kids just broke down crying and asked their grandmother to go home with her. Then the fucking mother says, "You just want to take them so you can have all that money!" basically imply that nobody loves them, and it's all about the money for everybody.

I've never wanted to slap somebody so badly as when I heard that story. The good news is, the kids' school did eventually phone child protective services on her, and the kids are now in their grandmother's care. The derelict mother will not be keeping any of the money.
