What's the current wisdom on DN career paths? Coding overrun yet?

There's a lot of different types of coders that go into the game industry. Someone doing the more menial GPU or server work won't make as much as the people who are doing front end stuff like rolling metaballs from scratch (which is wicked hard) like the guy's blog I posted in my other reply, who makes 50k p/yr working off of forums from some village in Africa...

Look at job sites there's many ways to make money w/games from cheats, bots, DRM, indie studios, etc. Apart from OS & social networks games have some of the largest user bases of any softwares.

Front end game dev is different than web stuff though, they have little in common, you'd basically need to start over.
