So what's the deal with Freedompop's extra stringent BYOD process versus other Sprint MNVOs?

There are some instances where we'd (Ting) get a FED error for a device, but still be able to PLBL it (meaning the FED flag was incorrect). We built some additional logic into our BYOD checker to try to PLBL any FED flagged device, just to be sure the FED flag was correct. If PLBL'ing it failed, we'd say it was financially ineligible. If PLBL'ing succeeded, we'd say you're good to go.

That's my only guess here. But if that's truly the case, once you get a successful response from Ting, you ought to get a successful response from any further checks elsewhere. Unless FreedomPop caches its negative responses for some temporary or indefinite period of time. (We would also do that for GSM checks at Ting, but CDMA iirc.)

If not caching, the only other random guess I could hazard would be that FP has agreed/been subjected to some heightened FED criteria. But that would be pure baseless speculation on my part.
