What's the difference between two dicks and a joke?

I'm a massive fan of Stuart's work and enjoy a good joke as much as the next person, but, as I have said countless times before (and will again), this wasn't a good joke. At all.

I'm only banging on about this because I believe in constructive criticism. If I find something funny and brilliant, which I do 99.99% of the time on Stuart's videos, I will say so, but by the same rule if I find something that didn't work I'll say so.

I'm just going to copy and paste a couple of what I've already said on the matter:

"If you make very popular videos of you eating disgusting food, you really don't want to plant even the tiniest seed of doubt that reactions are faked in any way."

Even if only 1 person out of every 100 picks it up the wrong way that still adds up to a significant amount of people who now think the videos are scripted in some way.

"...it just seems like a very risky gag with very little reward in my honest opinion."

Think about it. Even though it most likely won't, for the sake of argument let's say that this video gets a million views. Just 1 out of every 100 viewers picks the joke up the wrong way and now thinks that the exchange was real.

That still adds upto 10, 000 people who are now thinking videos are faked on some level. That is not insignificant. Why would you want to risk confusing thousands of people for the sake of a weak joke that goes over most peoples heads?

The fact that the comments for the original video posted here is filled with discussion about it, coupled with the fact that it spawned two other posts (including this one) is proof that the joke didn't work.

Imagine if this video was your first encounter with the Ashens channel. You see this exchange and then assume the reactions are faked. It might put you off from checking out his videos, thus losing a potential subscriber and ad revenue.

It's not even funny, which is kind of the point of a joke in the first place.

Again, I'm not trying to be argumentative or causing trouble for the sake of doing do, but I do believe that it did more harm than good.
