What's a hill you're willing to die on in 5e or TTRPG in general?

My hill that I will die on is that martials should be better. In general. If casters excel in everything, it's hard not to feel disappointed when you don't pick one.

No, it's not bad that you should have to rely on party members. It's bad that you have to rely on someone to do your ONLY job, and then that no one relies on you. Fighter and barbarian (and arguably monk) have one job. If everyone else does your job for you, you have no job. Spellcasters take the lead, whether you ask them to or not. They're just simply the best man for the job.

I'm not saying make martials overpowered or nerf casters. That's very complicated. What I am saying is to make martials more useful and fun. In every area. Take a page out of the rogues book, you've done it before WoC you can do it again.

I want to play a fighter. I really do. But everytime I get to level 5 I always end up regretting it.
