Sleeping pills aren’t painful, or at least aren’t supposed to be. It won’t make your stomach explode by overdosing on pretty much anything else. The thing is, it’s EXTREMELY hard to kill yourself with sleeping pills. Extremely. Even prescribed sleeping pills are made so safe because of the amount of people that tried to overdose on them throughout 70s-90s. You definitely couldn’t kill yourself with over the counter sleeping pills. You’d have to take like 160 pills and even then what will most likely happen is you’ll just make yourself brain dead. Definitely compensated with different horrible consequences since it doesn’t have any pain. Ideally you fall asleep and your heart slows then stops and you die in your sleep. Barely anyone “succeeds” with this method. It’s one of the most popular ones to attempt. And least “successful” (I hate using that word referring to suicide) I wouldn’t try it just because becoming brain dead is one of my biggest fears. Would rather go through some pain for that eternal sleep.
