What's Leaving in October? And What's New?

This should probably be posted in r/unpopularopinions, and speaking as what would contemporarily be described as a proud gay woman of color, what's with all the PC stuff? Like "Queer Horror?" Can't we just focus on good horror, regardless of sexual orientation, skin color, or whatever other qualifier people use to divide one and other?

I understand the concept and theory about the idea of providing more overt representation for "marginalized" people, but doesn't the constant highlighting of our differences cause further separation & alienation? Obviously, this is just my opinion, but as a so-called marginalized person, I'm personally getting a little weary of the constant parade.

For example, Duane Jones in "Night of the Living Dead" was great, and I loved "Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge," but rather than highlighting their merits as films based upon immutable traits (like skin color and sexual orientation), wouldnt it be better to celebrate both as being simply great horror?

I'm interested in everyone's opinions, genuinely, and I await the oncoming onslaught of downvotes.
