What's the most cringe situation you've ever been in?

I was in Tokyo and the first night there I decide to try out a restaurant near my Airbnb. I walk in and stand there in front of the entrance trying to figure out if I seat myself or if I wait to be seated. Another guy walks in and just sits down so I go ahead and sit down too. I'm looking around confused because there is this conveyor belt in front of me with food on it, so, I quickly search on Google what to do. Everything I find on Google says to just take whatever you want off the conveyor belt, eat it and stack the little plates up because that is how the bill is tallied. So I go ahead and take some food and eat it, but, it turns out I ate someone else's order and that I was actually supposed to order what I wanted and wait for it to come to me on the conveyor belt. At this point I'm extremely embarrassed because the employee there practically announces my mistake to the entire restaurant, so I decide to pay for what I already ate and quickly leave. By the time I'm back on the streets walking, I turn around and see a guy running towards me and trying to get my attention. Everyone is staring at us and the guy hands me some money. Turns out I left more money than I was supposed to so an employee chased me down in a crowded street just to give me 200 yen back. Embarrassed myself twice that day and I cringe about it every night.
