Ooh wee, buckle up, this may be pretty long. When I was about 11, my grandparents got divorced, and I was living with them at the time.(Note that they were not that old, younger than retirement age) Let's go back a little before that. My uncle was still living with them and he had his son over. Me and his son were in the living room. He was holding this little wooden alligator that was a souvenir. He proceeds to hit me with it. In response, I snatch it from him so he can't hit me again. His dad sees this, and thinks I'm going to hit him with it (I wasn't) and says "If you hit him with that I'm going to fucking kill you." Now, my grandfather, who is in the next room, hears this, comes out and confronts his son about this. He proceeds to hit my grandfather then run rather than stay and fight his dad. Cops get called, and my grandfather gets baker-acted because grandma and my uncle claimed he said he was gonna kill himself (He didn't). Grandma proceeds to convince him to stay in the mental institution longer for family therapy, and files for a restraining order as well as a divorce while he's in there. He gets out, and ends up living with a relative for a while, but I'm still in the other house mostly, except on weekends. Grandma proceeds to go out and party many times, leaving my uncle's friend to wake me up for school. After a while, the divorce gets settled, and by court order, the house gets sold. There was also suppose to be a custody hearing, but apparently it got changed without my grandfather getting notified, so he didn't appear. Shortly after that, my grandmother dropped me off at his place with my stuff. Didn't hear from her again for 9 months, but by then, when she did try to contact me, my response was basically "Fuck that."
