What's the most important lesson life has taught you?

The only person anyone can truly trust is themselves. Sure, you can rely on and accept help from others, and you certainly should. But to trust anyone at all completely is the dumbest thing anyone could possibly do. The moment you place full trust in anyone your life is fucking doomed. Its just a matter of when. Given the right opportunity everyone you know, love, and have ever even met will sell you out for a quick buck.

All trust given should always have a bit of skepticism and distrust accompanying it just for your own personal, financial, and emotional safety. Don't actively distrust those around you, but never ignore that little voice in the back of your head that tells you something is wrong. Your instincts will always prove to be right.
