What's the most terrifying thing you've seen in real life?

Took a road trip earlier this year with two friends over spring break, it included some camping at a state park down in the Florida panhandle. The first day at a new site we walked down a nature trail and were heading back to our tent as the sun was setting. We continued through a grassy picnic area which we thought would lead back to the main road but instead we ended up approaching some tall grass.

As we get closer we notice a huge buck in the grass farther back and I joke about how it could probably mess us up. A few steps closer and suddenly we start seeing more movement from the vegetation and now there are at least ten sets of deer eyes staring at us from the mild darkness maybe 75 feet away. Just as we start to back up, a doe leaps from the grass and charges at us, and we turn around booking it the other way. Thankfully it diverted its path and I assume it just wanted us to leave their nest but we were scared shitless. We were nearly attached by territorial deer. Less than 100 meters from the main campsite of the park with hundreds of people.
