What's the nicest thing a complete stranger has ever done for you?

This is less surprising than others because of the 'biker community', but was still really nice regardless!

When I was 17 I had a 125cc supermoto (dirt bike with road tyres) that I loved to ride around on. I wanted something more so I got an exhaust kit for it along with some other upgrades and took it to a mechanic. However, the throttle and clutch felt so different I simply couldn't ride it. It was stalling over and over again. I had been riding the bike for about a year at that point and hardly EVER stalled it, maybe once every two months at most. This was extra-ordinary.

For the life of me I tried and tried but I simply couldn't get it going. This biker riding past in all matt-blacked out gear with a matt black sports bike pulled over to see what was going on.

He was unable to ride it very well either, but much better than me. After helping me for about 45 minutes I was finally able to reliably use the clutch without fucking up. I had to just 'go for it'. Release the clutch super quick with lots of throttle to not stall it. He took it one step further though, he escorted home with me to make sure I got home alright. It was the first and only time I have rode with someone before.

We got home, he fist bumped me and shot off.

I still think about him years later.

The clutch / bike was never the same and I took it back to the mechanic to take the upgrades off. I have no idea what was going on but I feel like I got screwed over tbh. Oh well, you live you learn.
