What's a random story you have that you've always wanted to share but haven't had the chance?

One time beer saved my life (a bit of an exaggeration of course). My SO and I were on vacation in Bali. After dinner and a drink on our last night before flying home, my SO suggested that instead of staying out we should just go back to the room and get a good night's sleep. I reluctantly agreed even though our flight the next day was not until the late afternoon. On the way back to the hotel we passed a bar that was just giving off good vibes: the atmosphere seemed great, just the right amount of people, a couple of guys playing some nice live (but not too loud) music. So I convince her that we should "have some fun...just one more." Several beers later we leave and go back to the room. I'm drunk so I just collapse into bed. My SO, being not a disgusting person, goes to wash up and brush her teeth. As soon as she enters the bathroom she shrieks. Our room was a bungalow in which one side faced the jungle and in the bathroom one of the 4 walls was just open...like you were bathing in the jungle. The only thing separating you from the jungle was glass wall about 2 feet high. I go to see what's up and there is a green snake in the process of slithering over the glass wall into our bathroom. I assumed it was nothing but looked closer and saw that it had a triangle shaped head, a telltale sign of venomous snakes. We called the hotel staff, they came and checked it out, yelled really loud and beat the thing to death. Turns out it was one of these!.
The thing is, had we come home straight away without stopping for another couple of drinks, we would have already been fast asleep and then thing would have slithered into the room unabated. One of us could have stepped on it stumbling to the bathroom in the middle of the night, it could have crawled into our luggage or bed, etc.

TLDR; having "one more drink" meant we came back to room later and found a venomous snake coming into the room which otherwise would have come in after we had already gone to sleep.
