What's the reputation of Ohio in the US?

Ohio is home to two of the most likely companies standing in the way of progressives' political agenda. The ironically-named Progressive Insurance is HQ in Cleveland area (Mayfield Heights) and is a regular lobbyist against single-payer insurance or 'medicare for all,' because it would cut into their profitability and their business model of "bundling." (shopping for the myriad of private insurance on the open market and selling it under the Progressive brand).

Rather than pass their profitability on in the form of savings to consumers, Progressive instead funds a private multi-million-dollar art gallery available only to employees and invited guests

Flo has expensive art tastes. The ironically-named Progressive Insurance Casualty Company is anything but progressive, politically speaking.

Another major Ohio company is JP Morgan Chase, located in Columbus. JPMC is a significant obstacle towards reforming student loans, or universal basic income (UBI) or any other financial goal a progressive political movement might want to enact. Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMC, became the face of the opposition during #OccupyWallStreet and of course he was a major lobbyist in Congress during the 2008 financial crisis, arguing for bank bail-outs. Socialism for me, homelessness for thee, for tens of thousands of Americans whose pensions and 401(k) were wiped out by the malfeasance practiced by JPMC and others.

Just two reasons to hate Ohio - both of these companies employ tens of thousands of people locally, both have a heavy hand in local politics, and both lobby heavily in Congress against progressive politics.

Ohio was once a solidly Democratic state, but has gone more and more lockdown Republican in recent years, and of course their recent attempt to gerrymander their voting map was overturned in a court as unfair to voters. That should tell you what an Ohio Republican is worth to America - a regular ongoing obstacle towards progress.

And of course Joe the Plumber originated in Ohio - and the phony "working man" who was really an investor who marketed himself as a plumber but had no plumbers' license himself, was worth $1 million net, mostly due to right wing activism rather than honest work as a plumber.

Just three big reasons to hate Ohio for being a hotbed of crap sprayed out onto the rest of America. Ohio - round at both ends and HIghly full of shit in the middle.

Fuck Ohio!!!!!!
