I get sleep paralysis ever now and then. It’s always terrifying.

Last time a friend and I were searching a house looking for some sort of shadow creatures/demons. We split up each room. I get to the kitchen and I’m looking into living area when I see a shape stand up. I freeze hoping it won’t see me. It turns my direction and rushes towards me. Next thing I know I am on my back in a bed being held down. I know if I can just get my dog to come to me, he will protect me and chase whatever it is away.

So I try to call my dog but I can’t. I can’t move, I keep trying to call him but all I can get out is a muffled wheeze so he isn’t coming. Now this being a sleep paralysis episode it feels hyper real and I am actually trying to to call out but can’t. I am trying to move but I can’t. I can’t wake myself up either, because in sleep paralysis you are usually also aware that this might be a dream.

I feel an arm around my neck and I think this is the end. But then there is a voice saying it’s ok, you’re safe. It’s my wife and she wakes me up.
