What's something dumb people do that smart people don't?

I was raised in a family where people are actually successful at pyramid schemes - btw the secret is 90% being literally the 3rd person from the top of a company that happened to make it big, and 10% being a sociopath with an ice-cold shriveled Grinch heart who can only feel joy when they are getting the rush of power from successfully manipulating those around them, soooo I'm not recommending actually trying it.

Anyway, the one my family is in sells you products for 50% of what you sell them for, so I've always thought it would be amazing if I could find a company that sells stuff that I actually like, then I could join it and just keep the crap from the starter kit and order myself discounted goods from time to time. There's a lot of flaws with this plan though, the main two flaws being that the price the "sellers" buy the product for is still heavily overpriced compared to finding similar items in retail stores, and that the only things I enjoy buying are restaurant food and $3 thrift store clothing, neither of which seem like likely pyramid scheme products.
