What's something interesting about your native language that you've never given a second thought?

I am not going to fall into the classification of linguistics as an academic pursuit debate. Not that old chestnut. I'm certainly not locking horns with a reddit expert with training in linguistics.

I'm sorry that you won't accept my apology. By the way, that's very poor show to leave a chap with an apology dangling in the breeze. Still a hanging offence in the home counties I think.

Also, at the risk of sounding too forward, could you please let me know if you need another reply? I'm not sure whether you are genuinely seeking a reply or just wish to get a last word in (which I'm happy to give you). It's starting to feel like the time I was on the Oxford - Birmingham train and got stuck on the window seat due to some Special Brew swilling chav on the aisle seat. I had to fake an interest in football for a full hour just to keep the eye twitching nutcase subdued. It was very stressful. I'm also on GMT time and it's bloody late - way past my bedtime and the hot water bottle is getting cold.

Apologies for the length. I rambled a bit.

Apology from before still available on request if you change you mind (I'll just pop it to one side for now).
