I was on a nationally ranked high-school sports team. If you've ever seen Varsity Blues, well, it doesn't even come close to what happened/what we did. Both the shit we got away with and the level of abuse were off the charts.

Recently, my mom admitted that she and my father knew I was being abused the whole time. Looking back, I'm really hurt they knew I was getting beaten and playing hurt. The coaches covered it up and dosed us with pain pills and other drugs.

You ever had someone pour bleach in an open wound to try to clear up a bad infection? I have...it sucks.

Fuck all of it. It's a cult and the parents just care about the W.
